"Most extraordinary voices we've heard... a showstopper"

A special mention apart goes to Angela Renée Simpson (Serena), one of the most extraordinary voices we’ve heard from the stage of La Scala in recent times. Her performance (isolated for a moment) of ‘My Man’s Gone Now’ during the funeral of her husband, killed by Crown, touched all possible sentimental chords, her breathing, colors, and the vocal extension pouring out the shock to the soul... A proclamation of love resigned to everlasting loss, skillful and positive. At the end, Ms. Simpson was amassed in a flood of well deserved acclamation and applause... a showstopper.
